It’s Florida in July, it will be what you expect hot, humid and yes there are chances of showers and thunderstorms. Also the storm system that has been keeping the Great Lakes, Ohio Valley and Northeast cool and damp will begin to exit but also push a weak cold front into the northern part of Florida. This could help spark showers and storms Thursday and Friday. As we go into the 4th of July weekend the boundary looks to weaken and wash out but could still spark isolated storms in the afternoon and evening.

I am like many of you. I HATE rain shortened race, but it is part of the strategy that is NASCAR. Then it’s not a matter of speed as it is as smarts and most importantly luck. Had the rain come earlier in New Hampshire Ryan Newman would have won. Had it held off Jeff Gordon would have won.

Here is to a wide open rain free and “Big One” free racing this 4th at Daytona. For those who are interested in the Indy Race at the Glen this weekend I will be doing a forecast for that later today.
