FORECAST UPDATE THURSDAY 3 AM EDT:
We’ve heard the sayings before, “Just schedule a NASCAR race in places that have droughts and it will end it” Because after awhile it feels like it rains every weekend even though only a small percentage of Sprint Cup Races have actually been rained out this year. Although Texas in the midst of one of its worst droughts in decades, there’s a Sprint Cup race on Sunday and there is a small threat of storms the same day.
I am only mentioning a slight chance of a thunderstorm forming Sunday. There will be a stalled front across the area and there could be enough of a disturbance along with some Gulf moisture to trigger an isolated storm or two. I am not very confident that will happen or that these storms (if they form) are a concern at all, but it is better safe than sorry.
