Right now the forecast for New Hampshire Motor Speedway doesn’t look very promising. A upper low that has been stalled out over the northern Great lakes for most of the week will continue to slowly move east by the end of the week. This system has been funneling lots of Gulf moisture into the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic over the past several days.

By the weekend that upper level storm system will be right over the Northeast and New England and this will keep cloudy skies and a chance of off and on showers for the region. The bad news is it’s another weekend with a strong likelihood of showers. These upper level storms keep the atmosphere very unstable. The only good news I can find is that the rain should be very scattered in nature so this could provide windows to get the race started and maybe finished but at this point it is too tough to call. I don’t think this is a wash out but I will know more as the forecast becomes clearing in the coming days. If I was going to the race, I would make Monday plans just in case. This could go either way at this point. Stay tuned
