Showers are possible today at Daytona International Speedway. Best time will be from about mid morning into the early afternoon. They will be widely scattered so I expect rain to be a threat especially during qualifying. Will rain definitely wash out qualifying? I can’t say that, especially when talking about scattered showers and possible thunderstorms but the possibility of rain is better than what had on Friday.
The other concern for drivers and teams will be the wind. With a cold front working across Florida the winds will increase. Sustained winds will be from 10 to 20 mph, and gusting to near 30 mph. The winds will start out of the south-southwest but shift to more west-southwest around midday.
It will be a very busy day for me and my family but I will try to update as often as I can.
