FORECAST UPDATE THURSDAY 1 PM ET:
Cold front will move through the Mid-Atlantic and stall near the coast Friday into Saturday. Storm system will slowly move along this boundary Friday into Saturday bring it with it some steady rain showers. The good news, once this system passes high pressure builds in and clears out the rain and clouds late in the day Saturday with plenty of sunshine on Sunday. Temperatures will be very chilly over the weekend. Highs are expected to be in the low 50s and lows will drop into the 30s at night.
Although I don’t think Martinsville Speedway will see snow there could be snow in the western and northern Mountains in Virginia as this storm system moves in Friday and exits on Saturday. It is possible that some flakes could mix in but overall I don’t think we will see snow.
