Forecast for the 94th Running of the “Greatest Spectacle” in Racing Indianapolis 500:
It will be a hot and humid Indiana day. Most of the race is dry and this is a mainly dry forecast. The only thing that will need to be watched will be the possible development of an isolated shower or storm across southern and central Indiana. The heat, moisture and instability are there but lack a trigger to fire these storms. I expect if any activity will fire it will after 3pm. Any shower or storm will be short lived but slow. Just because we mention a shower or storm doesn’t mean it will hit the track. What I think is there will be some firing up and all though the likelihood of a storm hitting the track is low it is possible.

Forecast for the Coca-Cola 600:
It is going to be a hot and humid North Carolina day. Stay cool, drink lots of fluids and non alcoholic beverages, wear sunscreen because the UV index will be “Very High” or 9 out of 15. Through the morning there have been scattered showers and storms into southern South Carolina south of US 26. We could see some isolated storms or showers later this afternoon into the evening. It is similar to Indy with the lack of a trigger for these storms and although the risk is low it is still there but I really feel confident that both races will get through with little to NO IMPACT from rain. I just feel that there is a high enough risk to mention an isolated shower or storm.
