FORECAST DISCUSSION Wednesday 10 AM EDT:
This weekends forecast is very important to me because I am actually going to be in attendance this weekend. Unfortunately for me and all the fans this weekend there are a few chances of rain. There is a lot of uncertainty in this forecast when it comes to timing, location & intensity of rain this weekend. Friday will feature a return to warmer and more humid air as a ridge of high pressure builds into the Northern Great Lakes. Most of the time on Friday should be warm but there could be an isolated storm or two in the afternoon.
Saturday will be the warmest day of the weekend as temperatures soar into the upper 80s, skies will range from partly sunny to mostly cloudy and scattered to isolated storms are still possible. Then by Sunday the ridge of high pressure begins to break down as a cold front tries to drop south across southern Michigan. The problem here like last weekend will be the placement of showers with regards to the location of the cold front and the timing of the actual cold front. Because of this uncertainty that is why I am forecast mostly cloudy skies with possible showers and storms at some point on Sunday. There are still a lot of details to iron out but if you are going to Michigan prepare for very warm and humid weather this weekend and also expect rain at times during the weekend. Just hope the rain occurs when there are no cars on the track and in a manor that can allow crews to dry and get full races in. Will have more as new data is made available.

I am going to @mispeedway on Sunday with my daughter. It is a 5 hour drive, and I have to work on Monday morning. The speedway does not have lights so there is a limited window to get this race in. I have a threshold that if there is a greater than 60% chance of rain we will have to cancel and hope that August will be better weather.
